Hi, I’m Mary Ellen Milam. I have been with TCU Campus Recreation for 21 years, in a variety of roles with a variety of titles.   I currently serve as the Associate Director of Programs, working primarily with the Sport Club program in addition to collaborating with Assistant Directors of Fitness, Intramural Sports and Outdoor Programs.

After pursuing an undergraduate degree in Recreation and Leisure Studies from Southwest Missouri State University (now Missouri State) and a Master’s in Recreational Sport Management from Indiana University, I made my way to the great state of Texas to begin my full time career in Campus Recreation. I first joined the staff at The University of Texas at Austin and then the University of North Texas prior to starting at TCU in 1994.

When someone asks me what I do for a living, I tell them I am an educator who uses recreation as a tool   to help our students become living examples of the TCU Mission statement – ethical leaders and responsible citizens.
