Beginner Cycling

Posted on

Don’t be intimidated by cycling classes!  This six-week beginning cycling class is intended for people who want to build up to attending a regular indoor cycling class.  Classes will be 30 minutes in length, including warm-up and cool-down.  The classes will start out easy and become progressively harder. By the end of the six-week term you will be completing full-intensity cycling classes.  At the conclusion of this training course you’ll be ready to participate in any of the Campus Rec cycling classes.

Each Specialty Class requires participants to sign up in advance so that everyone has a reserved spot and completes the class as a team.  Since the group of participants stays the same, the instructor is able to progress to more challenging skills and workouts over the course of several weeks.  It also allows participants to get to know one another and hold each other accountable.

The instructor for this course, Alice Carter, loves to ride her bike and wants to introduce others to this fun yet beneficial activity.  She has been hooked on bicycling since she was in college, and she has been leading indoor cycling classes for nine years.AliceCarter2

Beginner Cycling will run from Monday, January 25th through Wednesday, March 2nd.

The class will meet Mondays and Wednesdays at 12:15pm in the Cycle Studio.

The deadline to sign up is February 1st by 6:30pm in the Rec Center Front Office.

$50 for 12 classes of semi-private instruction with Alice and the rest of your team!

We’re also continuously bettering ourselves as flag football referees as that sport moves into playoffs, and we’re only just beginning indoor soccer and…
